This section details and captures some of the human interest and actual accounts of local literacy-related initiatives around the world. Facts and figures provide a convincing argument for the validity of literacy efforts, but these "snapshots" from literacy fieldwork will generate interest and vividly demonstrate what literacy means to local literates.
