533v: Vocal music (solo and ensemble)

 

Description
 

Vocal music may be done as a solo or in an ensemble, either unaccompanied or accompanied. An "ensemble" refers to the group producing music and how the group is organized." Certain vocal music may be men only, women only, children only, or mixed. Certain voice TIMBRE can be associated with certain emotions. Further areas to research include song TEXT SETTING, SONG GENRE and MUSICIANS.

 
Kinds of ensemble
Antiphonal singing/playing Music in which two groups sing or play alternately.
Hocket Music in which individual notes in the melodic line are played or sung by different musicians.
Responsorial Singing in which leader and chorus alternate.
