Description
 

With scraped idiophones, the sound is produced by scraping a stick over a material which has a notched or ridged surface. It produces a series of short clicks or taps as the stick is scraped over the ridges. The instrument may have a resonator.

 
Examples:

Washboards, cog rattles, animal bones, sticks
